Laila stayed home to work on an anti racism article she’s writing, so I travelled up with the Brighton group, but ended up losing them in the busy crowd. Later on I bumped into a friend who’d been marching with the Jewish Bloc, carrying a sign for Jews against the Occupation, who said that the Israel counter protesters had shouted ‘you’re not really Jewish’ at them.
In recent days the UN has accused Israel of ‘Genocidal acts’. Israel has responded by stating the UN is ‘anti semitic’. Israel has also killed a team of charity aid workers in Gaza.

“Israel has reimposed a total blockade on the Gaza Strip. It is refusing to implement the second phase of the ceasefire agreement. Instead, it is using the threat of starvation and water shortages in an attempt to impose new terms. Further, Palestinians in Gaza face the threat of the Trump supported proposal to ethnically cleanse the entire population.
In the West Bank, Israel continues its daily military assaults on Palestinians. We must continue to put pressure on our government to end support for Israel’s violence.”
